SKUNK ODOR DEODORIZER

Ingredients

1/4 cup Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
2-4 Tbs. Lemon dishwashing soap

Combine ingredients right before your going to use. If the dog has a coat short enough just use as is, if you have a long or thick coated breed (like me) make a double batch.

Use mixture full strength into the area of 'direct hit' and add a little water and more soap to finish off the rest of the dog. Be very careful not to get this in your dogs eyes. Let sit (or massage in) for 5-15 minutes (peroxide can bleach darker coated dogs). Rinse, rinse again. Smell should be gone if the dog is bathed before the musk oil had a chance to dry.

Note: Don't store any leftover shampoo. This combination creates a chemical reaction that releases oxygen (gas) that will build up in a sealed container.

Of the 3 dogs I've owned that were skunked they were all sprayed in the mouth and on the head. If you have Petrodex toothpaste brush your dogs teeth as well - make sure to brush tongue & the insides of cheeks too. When your done throw away the toothbrush - it'll reek of skunk!
